Description : Terminal 3 is the terminal to be added to existing terminals 1 & 2 of Cairo Airport to increase the total passengers to 22 million passengers. The project is funded by 70% from World Bank & 30% from the Egyptian Government with a total budget of 500 million US dollars. The project was awarded to the Turkish airport construction company TAV.

The project is around 500000 m2 with built up area of around 175000 m2 consisting of main terminal building, concourse, 2 fingers & other ancillary service buildings like power plant, outdoor substations & apron control tower.

The project consists of 13 electrical substations connected on 7 medium voltage loops backed with emergency generating diesel sets. The total connected power of the project is around 60MVA. Complete power management & building management systems shall be installed to manage the operation of all systems inside the airport terminal.

Latest & up to date technology is applied for all systems networks where a complete LAN backbone system is used to which all telecommunication systems are connected as well as Building Automation System. The project comprises the following systems:

2-      Access Control System.

3-      Closed Circuit TV System.

4-      Public Announcement System.

5-      MATV System.

6-      Flight Information Display System.

7-      Data & IP Telephony System.

8-      Master Clock System.

9-      Integrated Security Management System.

10-   Parking Management System.

11-   Building Automation System.

12-   Power Management System.

The project comprises all apron area design as well as all taxiway & related infrastructure works including the installation of all Airfield Lighting together with all its related transformers & CCRs, Stand Identification devices & Visual Docking Guidance Signs.
